BSI has published a new version of the BS1363 series of standards, including specifications for wireable and non-wireable 13A fuse plugs, etc., the main changes in the new version of the standard include covering 60Hz, a minimum copper content of 58% in brass for current-carrying components, insulation and electrical strength testing covering indicators and internal components, adding test requirements for bipolar switches, and introducing BSEN61058 and BSEN60669 standards, which will be repealed on June 30, 2026.
On June 30, 2023, BSI published the new version of BS1363-1:2023, BS1363-2:2023, BS1363-3:2023, BS1363-4:2023 and BS1363-5:2023, BS1363 is the British plug and socket standard, and the corresponding old version of the standard will be repealed on June 30, 2026.
The BS1363 series of standards are as follows:
Part 1: Specification for wireable and non-wireable 13A plugs with fuses;
Part 2: 13A specification for sockets with or without switches;
Part 3: Specifications for converters;
Part 4: Specification for 13A fuse connection devices, with or without switch;
Part 5: Specifications of adapter plugs with fuses
The main changes in the new version of the standard are as follows:

The copper content of the brass material of the current-carrying parts is at least 58%;
Insulation and electrical strength testing covers indicators and internal components;
Increasing testing requirements for bipolar switches;
Introduction of BSEN 61058 and BSEN 60669 standards.
